The main goals of the Serbian Scientific Society are:
1 Freedom of scientific work, in accordance with applicable laws and scientific standards;
2 Developing and improving scientific work and thought;
3 Developing and promoting scientific critique;
4 Developing and verification of scientific methods;
5 Adaptation of scientific work, especially at universities, to new scientific thought and practice needs;
6 Analyzing scientific discoveries and examining the possibilities and consequences of their application;
7 Expansion and popularization of scientific knowledge;
8 Achieving other goals of interest to the Serbian Scientific Society and its members.
The Serbian Scientific Society applies the following methods in order to achieve these goals:
- General scientific discussions at the sessions of the Plenum of the Serbian Scientific Society;
- Specialized scientific discussions within the Department of the Serbian Scientific Society;
- organizing scientific conferences (symposia, consultations, public discussions);
- Development of scientific projects, expert studies and analyses;
- Processing and classification of material and documentation;
- Holding public lectures and organizing seminars, courses and other forms of innovation of scientific knowledge;
- Organizing publishing through regular and periodical publications;
- Taking initiatives and providing proposals and opinions to government bodies and other organizations with the aim to advance scientific, professional and research activities ;
- Cooperation with other scientific and professional organizations, institutions and entities locally and abroad;
- participating in the creation of general guidelines and programs for the development of scientific research;
- Other forms of organization, work and engagement to achieve the goals set out in the By-Laws.
